Angelica Panganiban said she is retiring from doing teleseryes, adding that her upcoming show “Walang Hanggang Paalam” will be her last one.
The actress announced her decision during the online press conference for the program yesterday, Sept. 25. The whole event was streamed live on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube page.
“Masaya ako ngayon i-share at masaya ako na nakasama ko sa project na ito ay itong mga director na ito, itong grupong ito, mga artistang ito, dahil gusto ko na magpaalam sa larangan ng teleserye (I am happy to share and I am glad that I got to work on this project with these directors, this group, these actors, because I want to bid goodbye to doing television series),” she said.
She was then thankful for all the productions in ABS-CBN that she was part of. While Panganiban did not state the reason behind her retirement, she assured that she is not leaving her home network.
Panganiban also stressed that her new show will definitely have a special place in her heart and mind because of the lessons she has learned from making it.
“Marami akong na-discover sa sarili ko na mga hindi ko akalang kaya kong gawin (I discovered a lot about myself that I did not think I could do),” she said.
Panganiban also hopes to make her supporters proud with her upcoming show before she retires from making teleseryes.
Panganiban began her acting career as a child and starred in films such as “Separada” and “Sarah… Ang Munting Prinsesa.” She then appeared in her first TV drama series “Familia Zaragoza” back in 1995.
She has since been a mainstay in ABS-CBN and has starred in productions such as “Rubi” and “Playhouse.”
Her newest project, “Walang Hanggang Paalam,” premieres on Sept. 28. Along with Panganiban, the show also stars Paulo Avelino, Zanjoe Marudo and Arci Muñoz.
